DALTON — Voters at a special district meeting Wednesday night unanimously approved plans and funds to renovate the Flansburg Avenue fire station.

The bid for the project will be awarded Tuesday, Sept. 25.

A total of 22 voters gave the go-ahead for construction of an additional bay and second-floor space and for repairs to the 50-year-old building.

The district also received approval to transfer $300,000 from the district's free cash fund into a project fund and to borrow up to $113,085, bringing the total project budget to $413,085.
