NORTH ADAMS -- Vermont artist Phyllis Miller Lee creates figurative sculptures in ceramic and clay, which she sees as a form of note-taking -- a comment on what she sees and a prompt for how she can remember it. Though based on drawings or people she sees, Lee's figures take on a life of their own, and part of the process is her own perception of how her creations might act and express themselves.

Lee's work can be seen in the show, "People I Know," currently at the NAACO Gallery. She can be found online at www.phyllisleeart.com.
