North Adams-based painter William Oberst is a master of many mediums. For Open Studios weekend, he'll display his watercolor landscapes, oil portraits and gouache studies from the Mill Children exhibition. Oberst's passion is to create life-sized portraits of people in contemporary settings, with the idea that artistic themes that have moved through the ages are still very much alive to be captured in the 21st century. Oberst can be found online at williamoberst.com. His website also features his 20-minute film, "The Painter's Vision."
