MANCHESTER -- Seeds, Shovels, Buckets and Boots is a field, farm and food festival in Manchester and the Mountains. The weekend event will begin with a mix and mingle gathering, buffet dinner, cash bar, plus an interactive session keynoted by nationally recognized Master Gardener, TV personality and author Charlie Nardozzi to be held at The Dorset Inn on Friday, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. Charlie, just back from a trip to Italy will speak and show a slideshow on the topic, "Vegetables in the Italian Garden".
Saturday morning’s program begins with a Continental Breakfast at Hildene and a tour of the gardens with Hildene’s Garden Horticulturist, Andrea Luchini at 8:30AM. The day continues with a full day of exhibits and demonstrations from 10 to 4 p.m. at J.K. Adams with Mio Bistro’s garden café.
Lecture and demonstrations include noted author and kitchen design expert Ellen Ecker Odgen on "The Art of Food." Other workshops will include composting for the home garden, growing orchids, stonewall building and more.
