ADAMS -- A two-year investigation into local marijuana distribution culminated in the arrests of two Victory Street residents by members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force on Friday.
At roughly 1 p.m., authorities executed a search warrant at the 39 Victory St. apartment of Gary Wandrei and Chandra Bourelle, ages 30 and 28, respectively.
Authorities say they located nine ounces of dried marijuana packaged for sale along with paraphernalia associated with drug distribution and $540 in cash.
"The investigation started in 2011," Det. Lawrence Ordyna of the Adams Police Department said Friday. "There was a lull in information, but it started up again toward the end of last year."
Ordyna approximated the street value of marijuana seized at $1,500.
Wandrei and Bourelle were released on personal recognizance Friday evening.
Wandrei will be charged with one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.
Bourelle will face subsequent offense possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act charges.
Both are scheduled to be arraigned at Northern Berkshire District Court on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
