After canvassing and calling voters in Pittsfield, it’s apparent that a lot of people still aren’t familiar with Elizabeth Warren, clearly the best candidate for the U.S. Senate. So let me help.
The first thing you should know is that Elizabeth grew up in a family on the "ragged edge of the middle class," a lot like a lot of us. She then went to a public college, and with babies in tow, graduated from a public law school. She began practicing law in her home, with small children running around.
As a lawyer, she began to see how Wall Street, the big banks and the credit card companies had rigged the game in their favor -- and against folks like us. And several years ago, she envisioned a way to level the playing field.
So she took on those big banks and their army of high-priced lobbyists and eventually created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which is dedicated to protecting us from the kind of predatory banking practices that led the country into the Great Recession. Yes, as a private citizen she has already created a new branch of government dedicated to protecting people like us. So, if you want a senator who has been fighting for us (the 99%) and against Wall St., the big banks and the credit card companies (the 1%) for years, help us organize to get out the vote for Elizabeth Warren. After all, she is one of us. Email berkshires4ew@hotmail.com.
