Reading Lorraine Malo ney’s letter to the editor (Wednesday, July 11) was very interesting. However, a few things were left out.
The administration under the leadership of Mayor Richard Alcombright has had increases in property tax, added a new sewer fee and raised the water bill. These three raises have been a burden on some people. In the future, I hope the leadership will not bury us taxpayers in financial debt.
I would like to commend City Councilor Jennifer Breen for voting no. She is working for us the taxpayers. She got a paper to review about 10 minutes before meeting and voiced her opinion on it. It was not enough time. We need another meeting.
Councilor Barrett was very informative on what needed to be done, however, I was disappointed when he voted yes. All you councilors are supposed to be helping us taxpayers out. You don’t have to agree with the mayor on all issues. Where is the say for us taxpayers? Not from most of the councilors. Mr. Bloom, you run the meeting like a judge. You are a president councilor, where is your help for the taxpayers?
Not many councilors ask questions on TV. You should all work together regardless of personality issues and stop these raises. They say money talks -- all us taxpayers will see it and say good-bye.
