Went outside to look around today,
There was a mess to my dismay. The winter storms knocked down a couple of trees,
I think Sandy did it with her strong breeze.
Everything around the land is brown,
The trees, bushes and grass are the same all around.
Got some damage to the outside of the house,
Some siding is loose and found a dead mouse.
Front porch roof leaks, I could see some sign,
The house top roof seems out of line.
Over near the lilac bush, I got a thrill,
There’s the early flower that comes, the daffodil.
I feel better now as spring comes along,
With flowers growing, what more could be wrong.
