As parents of young children in the North Adams school system, we have become engaged by the lengthy process to build a new school. We are at a critical crossroad for North Adams. While every option proposed may have had some appeal to someone in the community, the choice we are faced with is to decide if this choice is the correct choice for most of the community.
With the support and approval of the Massachusetts School Building Authority, this choice was offered to our North Adams City Council. On two separate occasions, this decision was reviewed and approved by our elected officials. It is now time for each of us to take the time to vote on Tuesday, April 30.
With a "Yes" vote, we will make the decision to support our children and grandchildren with a modern learning environment. We will show our children that we have a sense of community and the ability to look beyond our own backyards and see what is best for North Adams as a whole. It is time to put the drawing board away.
It is time to dismantle the soapboxes. It is time to take one positive step in a long path to address some of the many needs our community has. Please go to the polls on April 30 and help North Adams move forward.
