City Councilor John Barrett III once said: "To attract, you have to be attractive." The city councilor is right.
For North Adams to attract new businesses, new families or new anything, we need to have something to draw them here. We have to be attractive.
As residents of North Adams, we all know the natural beauty that surrounds us every day. From the most fertile trout stream in the state, the Hoosic River, to the state’s highest peak, Mount Greylock.
But that’s not enough. We have to develop other ways to attract people -- whether it’s with good jobs, (thank you, Crane & Co.), with well maintained roads, or of course, with good schools. These are all attractants for people to live here.
We have our chance, as current residents of North Adams, to add another attractor to the city’s list of good attractors, and that’s to vote "Yes" on April 30.
