I have heard very little about the public land possibilities for Spruces residents and what is planned. I did hear too many people are against the use of public land because of Conservation Commission restrictions, etc.
I know many folks who have lived in Williamstown all of their lives, who have owned homes, and, at retirement, found it affordable to go to a mobile home. They continue their lives for 20 years or so in surroundings that give them something that is private and allow them to be creative.
I believe that these people and all citizens of Williamstown need a fair shot. We have people in distress and they should come first. But they are not. The committees hit a brick wall at every turn. It is wrong and frustrating.
Williamstown has a public need. It has public property to satisfy that need. It would seem to me that we would have a vote to deal with the issue by all the people in town who own property, wherever it is.
I would think the above would rule. This issue needs acreage and we all know it. Do we remember good government of the people, by the people, for the people? Let's pick a site that will meet the need and vote.
