While reviewing the classified section recently, I saw the very familiar face of the cat I now know to be "Monster Cat." Instantly my heart sank, as it did each time I saw the listing over the years, thinking of the lost cat and the sadness of the owner. Then I saw the word ‘found' and was surprised and so very delighted. Reunited after 3 years. Truly amazing!
What did not surprise me in the later article, though, was that Ms. Drosehn of Northern Berkshire Cat Rescue was pivotal in his return. I also was not surprised that she paid for the veterinary care herself when the funds were not available at the rescue. That is what animal rescue/shelter volunteers do. They give their time and when the funds are not there to help an animal in need, they open their wallets and give their own money.
Unfortunately, the article did not contain contact information for those who want to help this new rescue. Possibly, it was an honest omission on the part of the reporter. So, here it is:
Donations can be mailed to GDANER at P.O. Box, 611, Adams, MA 01220 with NBCR in the memo. The rescue can be reached by phone at 413-358-3585 or at email@example.com. How about volunteering and being a part of a successful animal rescue such as this one?
All animal rescues and shelters need help. Northern Berkshire Cat Rescue is new and needs funds and volunteers to build its foundation and continue this kind of work. Please contact them and offer your help.
Welcome home, Monster Cat!
