Mailboxes, sign hit by vandalism
Thursday, December 4 HANCOCK -- Massachusetts State Police are investigating the defacing of eight mailboxes and at least one sign along Hancock Road (Route 43) and Whitman Road the Monday before Thanksgiving. "It's still under investigation, but we have nothing solid," State Trooper Ryan Dickinson said Tuesday night. Full Story

Thursday, December 4 Dec. 4 50 years ago today NORTH ADAMS -- Howard Alpert, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Alpert of 230 Church St., became the second North Adams Boy Scout to receive the coveted Ner Tamid (Eternal Light) award given by the Jewish faith.
