A slew of people called in to identify the late Robert E. Galipeau, seen here digging up carrots from his Kemp Avenue garden in North Adams on March 19, 1975. Mr. Gallipeau served 37 years with the city's water department, retiring as superintendent in 1983. A past commander of the American Legion in North Adams, he was instrumental in reviving the post's baseball team. He died on April 15, 2000. Thanks to his daughters Nancy Roy and Denise Galipeau, along with Helena Lescarbeau, Joe Mondia, Chuck Hartlage, Ed Denault, Mary Brooks, Judy McConnell, George Wilander, Bob Riordan, Joe Cariddi and several anonymous callers.
