CHESHIRE -- Joan Guerico, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Guerico of Outlook Avenue has been chosen to attend the annual American Legion Auxiliary Girls’ State Week to be held at Bridgewater State College June 15-22 with the Cheshire Unit of the Auxiliary as her sponsor. Susan Holmes, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Chandler Holmes, was chosen as alternate. NORTH ADAMS -- Atty. Bernard Lenhoff of North Adams, at the elf of the committee building the McCann Vocational School since the beginning, was re-elected chairman last night. Also elected were James Urquhart Jr., vice chairman; Dr. James Casey, secretary; and Edward Zabawa, treasurer.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Only a fraction of registered voters showed up at the polls Tuesday to narrow the field of candidates in the race for a one-year elementary school committee seat from four to two. Barbara Couture of 61 Bridge Road will run against George Galli Jr. of 15 Hamel Ave. Ms. Couture received 127 votes, Mr. Galli 224, to defeat Donna MacDonald who received 44 votes and Barbara Petro Sunskis received 29 votes.
NORTH ADAMS -- John Trombley of Drury was one of seven Berkshire County wrestlers named to the All-Western Mass. Division II first tea, Sunday by the Springfield Sunday Republican. Drury heavyweight Steve Potvin was named as an honorable mention choice.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Joan Krizack of Williamstown, Northeastern University archivist and head of special collections, recently received national recognition for achievements in her field. She has worked at Northeastern for the past eight years.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Officer Kyle Johnson has been promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Williamstown Police Department. This promotion is the result of Johnson’s scoring on the civil service promotional examination given in October 2001. Johnson joined the department as a special police officer in 1992.
