POWNAL, Vt. -- Police said Thursday that someone who stole a bicycle from a woman’s yard left one of inferior quality in its place.

State police believe the incident happened along with three reported thefts within the past 48 hours. The incidents all involved unlocked vehicles parked in residential driveways on Route 7, Route 346 and Middle Pownal Road. Loose change was taken in all three cases.

Police said the stolen bike belonged to Debra Wright.
