NORTH ADAMS -- A 38-year-old bicyclist was transported to North Adams Regional Hospital on Thurs day evening after colliding with a vehicle on Route 2 at the intersection of Union and Eagle streets.

However, Sgt. James Foley, of the North Adams Police Department, said Eric Peltier, of North Adams, suffered "no injuries that were apparent to [police]," after the collision with the westbound vehicle at around 5 p.m.

Police did not release the name of the motor vehicle's operator.

As of 11 p.m. Thursday, the cause of the accident was "yet undetermined," Foley said.

"We don't know whose fault [the accident] was, or whether [Peltier] was in the crosswalk or not," Foley said. "It's under investigation."
