ADAMS -- Elizabeth Toohey will assume her new duties as librarian at the Adams Free Library about Feb. 1. She was named to the librarian’s position Nov. 19 and is currently completing her duties as a member of the library staff, in a supervisory capacity, at Robbins Library in Arlington. Mrs. Toohey succeeds Flavia McKernan who resigned last April. NORTH ADAMS -- Airman 1.C. Paul Lepel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alcide Lepel of 97 Prospect St., has arrived home on a 30-day lave from Elmendorf Air Force Base at Anchorage, Alaska, where he has been stationed the pas two years. He will return to Alaska at the conclusion of his leave.

ADAMS -- At a recent meeting of the Alert Hose Company, Adams volunteer fire company, John Pansecchi of 4 Forest Park Ave., was elected to the membership. He served a year long apprenticeship to qualify to become a member. He also attended a firefighter recruit school for seven evenings at the Pittsfield Fire Department training grounds.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mt. Greylock football players were named to the All-Kosior League first and second teams. Named to the first team were Brian Gill, Tom Overbaugh, Ryan Lapidus, Shawn Flaherty and Jamie Bolotin. Named to the second team were Dan Dufur, Rob Nugent, Wally Hyde and Rufus Frost.

NORTH ADAMS -- In Division 3 North Adams Youth Basketball, Hoosac Bank defeated Pitcher’s Mound, 41-35. Leo Marable led the victors with 15 points while Wes Pecor and Wyatt Demo scored seven points apiece. Johno Hinkell scored 19 points for Pitcher’s Mound, while Charles Toomajian and Tim Jolin helped out with seven and four points, respectively.
