WILLIAMSTOWN -- Sgt. 1.C. William Fowler, U.S. Army, son of Mrs. Ida Fowler of 23 Bridges Road, has been graduated from the U.S. 7th Army Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Bad Tolz, Germany. He received four weeks of refresher training in various military subjects with emphasis on leadership and combat tactics. A career soldier, Sgt. Fowler entered the army in November, 1948. NORTH ADAMS -- Three North Berkshire high school students are among hundreds of Massachusetts youngsters who will take over Boston’s State House during the annual Student Government Day exercises. They are Jay Shapiro from Drury High School, Stephen Reynes from St. Joseph’s High School, and Albin Moser from Adams Memorial High School.

ADAMS -- Monique Gajda, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gajda of Adams, a junior at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, N.H., won the $2,000 Frankie Sutton Memorial Scholarship for flight training. She is an aviation management student and has been accepted into an Air Force pilot training program upon graduation. She is currently a member of the Air Force ROTC program at Daniel Webster.
HANCOCK -- Jiminy Peak President Brian Fairbank recently announced the promotion of Paul Maloney to the position of vice president and general manager of resort operations and John Filiault to the position of vice president of administration and treasurer. The men have been members of Jiminy Peak’s management team for over 10 years.

NORTH ADAMS -- Trista Lefave of North Adams, a student at Elms College in Chicopee, a member of the Class of 2005, has been named to the dean’s list at the college. She is majoring in media and communications. The dean’s list is comprised of students who earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
NORTH ADAMS -- Two juniors from McCann Technical School have been selected to participate in the 58th annual Massachusetts Girls State Program to be held June 15-20 at Bay Path College in Longmeadow. They are Rebecca Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cook of 271 West Road, Clarksburg, and Ashley Cristofolini, daughter of Shari Cristofolini of 6967 Main St., Readsboro, Vt., and Martin Cristofolini of 928 Main Road, Stamford, Vt.
