WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Regional District Amendment Committee is exploring the possibility of bringing Lanesborough and Williamstown elementary schools into the Mount Greylock Regional School District to create a preK-12 region.
The Community Outreach Task Group of this committee is meeting with as many constituents as possible in April for some preliminary discussion. They will be sharing general pros and cons of expanding the Mount Greylock region to include the elementary schools, while leaving plenty of time for feedback, concerns, and questions that could guide the Committee as they move forward.
Steve Hemman, executive director of the Massachusetts Association of Regional School Committees (MARS), will run the sessions along with members of the committee. Information sessions are scheduled with seniors and town officials in both Lanesborough and Williamstown, PTO and Faculty groups at all three schools, and additionally with the Williams College community.
