NORTH ADAMS - Poems by two Drury High School students have been accepted for publication in the annual Anthology of High School poetry. Drury English Department head Paul Gravel has been notified that sophomore Penny Sokolove has received special mention for "Twilight." "The Hall" by senior George Lerrigo also won acceptance.
ADAMS - A.2.C. Gerard Nadeau Jr., son of Mr. Nadeau of 37 Water St., has been selected Outstanding Airman of the month at Larson Air Force Base, Wash. He is a U.S. Air Force ground radio repairman, assigned to the 462nd Strategic Aerospace Wing at Larson. He was chosen for his exemplary conduct and performance of duty. Airman Nadeau entered the service in June, 1961.

NORTH ADAMS - Century 21 Harold Dupee Realtors has announced that Karen Deeb-Labelle of 161 West Shaft Road has joined the North Adams office as a sales associate. She has successfully completed the principles and practices in real estate and has received her real estate license.
ADAMS - The Village Bookstore at 31 Park St., now under new ownership, offers a wide selection of hard cover and paperback books and many children's books and educational material. The new owners are Anthony and Corinne Cafaro. Anthony teaches electronics at Pittsfield High School and Corinne worked as a teacher's aide at the Adams Memorial School before the couple purchased the shop from Len and Jean Rondeau.

NORTH ADAMS - The Drury High School Girls State delegates are Carolyn Ferrara, daughter Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ferrara and Tessa Dassatti, daughter of Sheila and Richard Dassatti. Hannah Noel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Noel, is the alternate. The Girls' State program will be held June 15-20 at Bay Path College in Longmeadow.
CHESHIRE - Army Pfc. Kyle Sinotte, son of Tyra Sinotte of Cheshire and Nicholas Sinotte of Waterbury, Conn., has graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. During training, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, rifle marksmanship, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions.
