ADAMS -- After spending a 30-day transfer leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Guerin of 42 Commercial St., A2d. Donald Guerin will leave Friday for reassignment to Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan. Airman Guerin enlisted in July, 1961 and had basic training at Lackland Base in Texas. NORTH ADAMS -- Seaman Patrick Pinsonneault, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Pinsonneault of 194 East Main St., is home on 30 days leave after completing a tour of duty with the Military Air Transport Command, Tachikawa, Japan. He enlisted in the Navy in August, 1960, and had boot training at Great Lakes, Ill. Upon completion of his leave, Seaman Pinsonneault will report to Port Heumene (Calif.) for technical training in construction mechanics’ school.

NORTH ADAMS -- Airman Michael Varno, son of William and Jane Varno of 22 D St., has graduated from the U.S. Air Force administrative specialist course at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Graduates of the six-week course learned how to prepare Air Force correspondence and reports, and earned credits toward an associate degree. Varno is a 1987 graduate of McCann Technical High School.
NORTH ADAMS -- Corner Market topped Altiere’s, 6-1 in North Adams Little League action. Sean McGrath was the winner on the mound. He also smacked two hits. Aaron Dupuis and David Tarsa also had two hits for the winners. Bill Gancarz was the losing pitcher. Joey Campedelli and Walter Stred had hits for Altiere’s.

ADAMS -- Kasey Wooten and Jeremy Lefebvre, students at Adams Memorial Middle School, were honored as Middle Level Scholar Leaders at a banquet May 22 at the Wooster Centrum. The criteria included demonstrating academic initiative and scholarship, providing service to classmates and school, exemplifying positive attitudes and demonstrating leadership in the classroom and school activities.
NORTH ADAMS -- In Northern Berkshire Girls Softball League action, Centry Roofing edged Berkshire Mountain Construction, 6-5. Stephanie Mirante picked up the win on the mound. Sabrina Roberts hit the ball hard and Mirante came through with a two-run single for the Roofers. Fallon Preite was the losing pitcher.
