WILLIAMSTOWN -- Kenneth Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Meyer of Lee Terrace, was selected "Camper of the Week" at the Williamstown Boys’ Club day camp. Other awards presented were: Archery, 98 points and over -- David Lesure, James Kemper and Robin Peck; air rifle proficiency -- Dave Gendron, Bill Peck and Jim McCormick. NORTH ADAMS -- Ann Barry of 85 Church St., a veteran of 32 years with the Telephone Company’s traffic department in North Adams, has assumed the duties of president of the Berkshire County Council of Telephone Pioneers of America. She is presently assigned as central office schedule clerk in the traffic department.

NORTH ADAMS -- Mt. Williams Greenhouses beat Englander Coachlines 14-6 in North Adams Women’s P&R Softball League action. Dayle Lic had three home runs, including a grand slam for the winners. Donna Morris had three hits, including a double, and Marian Shoey also had three hits. Marsha Bushika led Englander with two hits, including a triple. Debbie Calderara and Sharon Barrett each had two hits.
NORTH ADAMS -- In Schouler League baseball, the Elks beat Sprague 4-3. Bob Dorman had a pair of hits for the Elks, Tom Lescabeau and Chris Mullen each had a hit. Dan Harrison got the win on the mound. Jason Morin singled and doubled for Sprague. Jason Moreau and Chris Shoestock each had a double. Dan Goodell took the loss on the mound.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Shawn Leonard of Pownal, Vt., has joined Dion Money Management and Fidelity Independent Adviser as vice president and portfolio strategist. He works directly with new and prospective clients in establishing professionally managed portfolios. He uses his experience and knowledge base to help clients find the right balance in their portfolios.
ADAMS -- The Adams Little League age 9-10 All-Stars won the Great Barrington Tournament held on July 4. Members of the team are Tanner Bird, Jimmy Nowak, Nathan Gutman, Aaron Solari, Mike Gancarz, Bryan Cota, Cory Meczywor, Slayter Aubin, Michael David, Craig Eggleston and Kevin Cota.
