NORTH ADAMS -- Ann Clark has been named editor-in-chief of the Drury High School Academe, the school’s literary magazine. Her ap point ment to next year’s edit or ship was announced by present editor David Cohen. Miss Clark, a junior, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Clark of 328 Eagle St. NORTH ADAMS -- Seven St. Joseph’s High School boys will participate in the Notre Dame School Speech Festival at Fitchburg tomorrow: Ex tem poraneous speaking, Ar thur Roy and Daniel Baran; original oration, Stephen Reynes; oratorical interpretation, Francis Walsh and Charles O’Hagerty; and hu mor ous, John O’Brien and Michael Furlong.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- There were no heated races or hot debates before town elections Tuesday, but there was an upset in the selectmen’s race. Paul Humora of 54 Sloan Road ousted incumbent Henry Brat cher Jr. for a three-year selectmen’s term by 39 votes.
ROWE -- Air Force Airman Michael Laffond, son of Leo nard and Cindy Laffond of Rowe, has reported for duty with the 9th Organizational Maintenance Squadron, Beale Air Force Base, Calif. Laffond is a tactical aircraft maintenance specialist.
