NORTH ADAMS -- Three of the 10 North Adams men who applied for the job as permanent postmaster in North Adams were placed on the eligible list by the Civil Service Commission. The men, in the order in which their names came from the Washington announcement, are Charles Lawrence Jr. of 87 Hathaway St., Lawrence Belisle of 12 Freeman Ave., and Acting Postmaster Raymond Merr igan of 92 Glen Ave.

ADAMS -- Fifteen members of the Hoosac Valley Motorcycle Club of Adams attended a field meet Sunday in Wilton, N.Y., and brought back four trophies. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Gagne and Mr. and Mrs. James Hoellerich, who went as teams, and James Hoellerich and Bruce Bennett were the trophy winners.

NORTH ADAMS -- Two female students from Charles H. McCann Technical School have been selected to participate in the Massachusetts Girls State Program to be held at Elms College in Chicopee June 14-19. The delegates chosen are Jessica Gancarz, daughter of Gloria Darling of 15 North Holden St., and Melissa Peck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peck of Halls Ground, Clarksburg.

NORTH ADAMS -- Two students from Charles H. McCann Technical School have been selected to participate in the Massachusetts Boys State Program to be held at Bentley College in Waltham June 13-27. They are Steven Maroni, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Maroni of 23 Brooklyn St. and James Miller,

NORTH ADAMS -- Two junior students from McCann Technical High School have been selected to participate in the 57th annual Massachusetts Girls State Program to be held June 16-21 at Bay Path College in Longmeadow. The girls are Chelsea Cota, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cota of 26 West Road, Adams, and Erica Haskell, daughter of Lisa Haskell and Keith Haley of 13 Tyler St.

ADAMS -- Jennifer Segala, broker/owner of Steepleview Realty, located at 63 Park St., has announced that broker associate Daniel LaPlante of Cheshire has recently received his broker’s license for New York state. This will allow LaPlante to list and sell property in New York. LaPlante has been associated with Steeple view Realty since 1999.
