ADAMS -- In recognition of his professional dry cleaning skill, Peter Decker of 8 Harding Ave., head of Decker’s Cleaners and Dyers Inc., has been presented a special certificate known as the "Spotlight A ward." Mr. Decker accepted the challenge of Dry Cleaning World, a trade magazine, and successfully removed a difficult mystery spot on a swatch of material affixed to the publication’s cover. ADAMS -- Ens. Robert Eichorn of the U.S. Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eic horn of 10 Pearl St., has re turned to duty aboard the USS Hissem, a radar ship, since April, 1961, following his commissioning as an ensign March 3 of that year. Last October he completed a course in New port, R.I., at the destroyer force U.S. Atlantic fleet gunnery school,

25 years ago today

FLORIDA -- Staff Sgt. Cyn thia Haggart, daughter of Russell and Gertrude Wright of Route Route 2, has graduated from the Air Force leadership school for non-commissioned officers. She studied techniques of leadership, management and supervision. Sgt. Haggart served as a still photographer with the 435th Tacti cal Airlift Wing in
West Germany.

NORTH ADAMS -- Army Spec. 4 Carrie Watts, daughter of Elizabeth Sinclair and Anthony Scarpito, both of North Adams, has participated in "Team Spirit ‘87," a Re public of Korea/United States Combined Forces Command-sponsored exercise

held in South Korea. She is a material control and accounts specialist with the 305th Supply and Service Company in South Korea.

NORTH ADAMS -- Dr. Barre Hellquist, a Massachu setts College of Liberal Arts professor, has been honored by the acting governor, House of Representatives and Senate for his service to the state Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. Hellquist, chairman of the Biology Department at MCLA, has served for the past 17 years as a member of the Non-Game Advisory Commit tee of the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife.

NORTH ADAMS -- Boy Scout Troop 88 held its spring court of honor and parents night May 30 at the First Congregational Church. Scout master Jim Carollo presented the following rank ad vancements: Scout -- Chris Bohl; tenderfoot -- Anthony Saltamartini and Nicholas Richards; second class -- Shawn LaValley; and first class -- Christopher Robinson.
