ADAMS -- After spending a two-week leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Parker of East Road, Airman Apprentice Kenneth Parker of the U.S. Navy Air Corps will leave tomorrow to return to duty at the Jacksonville (Fla.) Naval Air Station. Early in August he will begin a 20-week technical training course in Naval aviation ordnance. NORTH ADAMS -- Seven committee members for the ninth annual Silver Spurs 4-H Club Horse Show to be held at the Taconic Riding Academy Sunday. Serving as judge for the event will be John Tietgens; manager, Arthur George; chairman, Claire George; announcer, Clifford George; secretaries, Carolyn George and Linda Liddle; veterinarian, Dr. Robert Henderson; and nurse, Amy Alsop.

ADAMS -- Navy Fireman Apprentice Patrick Bailey, son of Nancy Leveque of 150 North Summer St., recently departed for a 5 1/2 month Western Africa Training Cruise and exercise aboard the tank-landing ship, USS Barnstable County, homeported in Norfolk, Va. He joined the Navy in September 1985.
NORTH ADAMS -- Paul Bissaillon of 1 Semonole Dr., a Coast Guard petty officer 3rd class, has graduated from the Naval Academy Preparatory School. During the year-long course at the Naval Education and Training Center in Newport, R.I., he was prepared for entry into the U.S. Naval Academy. Bissaillon joined the Coast Guard Reserves in July,

CLARKSBURG -- In the Mixed Scotch Foursomes competition at North Adams Country Club on June 23, Deb and Tom Wiencek took top honors in the gross division with a 76. Carol and Charlie Nichols were second with an 80, followed by Cindy and Dave Scipione’s 81. The net division saw Jane Brown and Al Stalker’s 61 take top prize.
NORTH ADAMS -- Marine Corps Sgt. Douglas Goodall, son of Andrea and Douglas Goodall of 442 North Eagle St., recently graduated from the Basic Hygiene Equipment Operator Course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune, N.C. During the course, he received instruction in basic plumbing, maintenance management, military water supply, water purification and hygiene equipment and field sanitation.
