WILIAMSTOWN -- Three area girls, one from North Adams and two from William stown, will leave next Wed nesday to take part in a national Girl Scout Round-up at Button Bay Vt., on Lake Champlain. Ann Clark, of 328 Eagle St. in North Adams; Jean Walden, of 23 Cole Ave.; and Gloria Morandi, of 9 Latham St., will spend two weeks with 8,500 other scouts at Button Bay. ADAMS -- Parents, relatives and friends traveled to Windsor Jambs to witness the Court of Honor for Boy Scout Troop 38. Four scouts were advanced to Star rank. They are Francis Bourdon, Paul Exner, Francis Gillis and Ronald King. Attaining first class rank were William Swartzer, Dennis Campbell, Daniel Sherman and Bruce Scott.

NORTH ADAMS -- Kim Remillard had six hits as she led Preite Oil past Coakley, Pierpan, Dolan and Collins, 20-6 in Northern Berkshire Girls’ Softball League action. Winning pitcher Jennifer Gelinas also contributed to the offense with three hits, including a triple, and Nora Sulzmann had three hits, including a double. For CPDC, Eileen Flynn had three hits, including a double, and Beth Goodell and Joey Prenguber both added three hits.
NORTH ADAMS -- Pat St. Pierre pitched a four-hitter to help Tanzman & Maselli defeat Classic Cuts 7-4 in women’s P&R softball. St. Pierre went the distance for the win. Maria Steward pounded out three hits for

POWNAL, Vt. -- Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class James Mottor, son of Joanne and Mike Mottor of North Pownal, recently departed on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf while assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 15, embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, homeported in Norfolk, Va. Mottor joined the Navy in August 1993.
NORTH ADAMS -- Kellie Senecal, daughter of Maureen Senecal, of 37 Phelps Ave., graduated magna cum laude, from Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. She received a bach elor of arts degree in administration of justice with a minor in psychology. She will re turn to Salve Regina in the fall to complete her master’s degree.
