READSBORO, Vt. -- Gordon Phelps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phelps, of Tunnel Street, received the Camp Plymouth Award as Honor Camper for the past week of camping activity at this Boy Scout camp in Ludlow. This award is given on the basis of a Scout’s ability to put into practice all phases of Scouting teaching as they apply to outdoor camping activity. NORTH ADAMS -- Names of two cafeteria workers and an office clerk hired for the McCann Regional Vocational School were released. Ruth Ostrander, of 55 Hall St., was hired as the working kitchen supervisor; Ruth Deamer, of 20 Orchard St., was hired as cook; and Jeannette Lemoine, of 19 Maple St., was hired as clerk in the school office.

NORTH ADAMS -- Jamieson Dupee threw a four-hitter as Hoosac Savings defeated Rotary 8-5 in Little League baseball. Dupee and Bob Levesque each had a single and a double to lead Hoosac. Chas Bush and Chris Blake each had a pair of singles. For Rotary, Kyle DeMarsico and Jamie Hazard had doubles and Jason Duteau and Jason Davignon each had singles.
NORTH ADAMS -- James Molloy has been named to manage the real estate division of Deep Associates, according to Michael Deep, owner of the local insurance and real estate agency. Mr. Molloy, who has been associated with the company for four years, succeeds Louis Axt, now owner of the Taskin Furniture

NORTH ADAMS -- In recent action from the North Adams Babe Ruth League, Moulton’s defeated Adams Co-Op 12-2. Mike Meaney led the offensive attack for Moulton’s, finishing with three hits. Jason Engwer added a pair of singles and Pete Lieberman and Matt Moulton has RBI hits. Gordon Waldron was the only hitter for Adams.
NORTH ADAMS -- Nicholas Maselli, son of Mary Jane Betti of North Adams and Dr. Thomas Maselli of Clarksburg, has been awarded the 15th annual Ernest H. and Mary F. Rosasco Scholarship. The $2,000 scholarship was presented to Maselli July 7 at St. Anthony Church. He will study pre-med at Williams College.
