ADAMS -- Two Adams youths, friends since childhood, left together to begin four-year tours of duty in the U.S. Air Force after enlisting through the Pittsfield Recruiting office. They are John Jamros, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jamros of 69 North Summer St., and Richard Wisniowski, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wisniowski of 51 East Hoosac St. They went to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, to start basic training. WILLIAMSTOWN -- Five members of the Williamstown League of Women Voters have returned from the State League Women Voters’ annual fall conference in Framingham. Taking part in the session were Mrs. Vincent Barnett Jr., Mrs. Robert Barden, Mrs. Kenneth Davis, Mrs. Livingston Rice and Mrs. Stanley Bubriski.

NORTH ADAMS -- Four members of American Legion Auxiliary Frank R. Stiles Unit 125 attended the bi-monthly meeting of the Veterans Administration Voluntary Service Advisory Committee Sept. 8 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Northampton. They were Anita Lentine, Roberta Conrad, Margaret Dempsey and Margaret Lessig.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- A Mixed-Scotch tournament was held recently at Waubeeka Golf Links. Low gross winners were Dave and Wendy Berasi with 78. Low net winners were Ken Lamb and Pat Berasa with 561Ž2. Second was Bill Preite and Ruth Ann Luhman with 60 and third was Alex and

READSBORO, Vt. -- After 70 years owned and operated by the Bolognani family, the Readsboro Inn has changed hands and has a new look. Nadia Todres and Marcia Evans co-own the newly restored seven-room inn, 25-seat restaurant and sizable bar. The two purchased the building in December and the restaurant officially opened last Sunday.
NORTH ADAMS -- In North Adams Pee Wee Football action, the North Adams Cowboys Silver team defeated the North Adams Cowboys Blue team, 16-6. Both of Silver teams touchdowns were scored by Matt Stimpson. Quarterback Brett Denning got the two-point conversions. For Blue, Michael Tatro, Derek Smith, Jake Siciliano, Colt Primmer and Adams Whitman led the way.
