NORTH ADAMS -- A North Adams youth who de monstrated in an aptitude test before he began his service that he was qualified for training in the electronics field, has started a radar operator course at Kees ler Air Force Base in Missis sippi. He is Airman Basic Rob ert Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wood of 35 Folsom St. Wood enlisted July 31 and had basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
ADAMS -- Lt. Richard Car low, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carlow of 137 Friend St., returned Sunday to Fort Dix, N.J., following a 20-day furlough at his home, and flew yesterday from McGuire Air Force Base at Wrightstown, N.J. to his new station at Wurs burg, Germany. Lt. Carlow will be stationed with a military police unit attached to the 3rd Infantry.

NORTH ADAMS -- Three members of the North Adams Emblem Club attended the first quarterly meeting of the Massachusetts State Associa tion of Emblem Clubs, Sept. 20 at the West Springfield-Aga wam Elks Lodge. Local members attending were Mrs. Willi am LaPlante, Mrs. Frank La Roche and Mrs. Robert Baker.
NORTH ADAMS -- Drury wingback Jeff Bleau was named offensive player of the week, and tackle Kevin Aubin was named defensive players of the week for their efforts in last Saturday’s 53-6 win over Pittsfield. Bleau ran for a team-high 109 yards. Aubin helped spark the defense

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Zafrir Levy, a 2001 graduate of Williams College, was recently named the men’s and women’s squash coach for the school. He will take over for Dave Johnson and Julie Greenwood, who coached men’s and women’s, respectively. Sarah Marks, a 2000 graduate who is filling in for Greenwood as coach of the women’s tennis team, will assist Levy.
POWNAL, Vt. -- Logon Bottesi took first place in the Senior Handgun division, and Justin Walker took first in Senior Archery at the Vermont State 4-H Jamboree in late July. Walker also received third place in the Handgun and honorable mention in the Shotgun category, while Bot tesi received honorable mention in Muzzleloader.
