NORTH ADAMS -- Willi am Andrews Jr. of 16 Walker St., national fellowship chairman of the American Baptist Men and area vice president of its Massachusetts Council, is taking part in the 31st annual conference of the state organization in Groton. Mr. Andrews is participating in the devotional program and will present the national goals of the organization. CLARKSBURG -- Marilyn Brothers of West Road, who was awarded a master of arts degree from Smith College in June, is now employed as a technician at the North Ad ams Hospital. She is a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in North Adams and the Uni versity of Massachu setts.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Par Fours won the annual First Agricultural Bank golf tournament, a captain and crew event, at Waubeeka Golf Links. Carding 73 for the win was the team of Mike and Adam Christopher, Tom Rowland and Dave Toussant. The Easy Eagles (Bob Gale, Bob Darl ing, Lee Turgeon and Mary Ann Kirby) took second with 75 and The Chip Shots (Pat Darl ing, Brian Fahey, Marty Huban and Den nis Lebeau) were third with 77.
NORTH ADAMS -- Four educators from Drury Senior High School attended the Leadership Project in home economics Sept. 21 in North ampton. They were Arthur Harrington, team leader of occupational education, Jan ice Woodruff, Pauline Can tone and Georgette

NORTH ADAMS -- Joe Manning’s poem, "The Gold en Cross," has been published in Volume 10 of the Berkshire Review. Manning is the auth or of "Steeples" and "Dis ap pearing Into North Ad ams." The poem was in spired by the opening of The Porches Inn last year. The Berkshire Re view is an annual publication of the Berkshire Writers Room.
NORTH ADAMS -- Nearly 100 years after People’s Market opened on Eagle Street, a new downtown market has been started at the same location. The Market, at 45 Eagle Street, owned by Kevin Avanzato, offers a wide variety of local produce, and features gourmet, natural and organic foods.
