NORTH ADAMS -- The following cases were heard in Northern Berkshire District Court on Monday:

* Pamela A. Sherman, 52, of Ashland Street in North Adams, was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 23.

* Samuel J. Gonzalez, 29, of Hall Street in North Adams, admitted to sufficient facts and was found guilty on a charge of shoplifting by asportation. Gonzalez was ordered by the court to pay $200 in restitution.

* Max Joder, 21, of Estate Road in Lanesborough, was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, no inspection sticker and possession of an open container of alcohol inside a motor vehicle. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 30.

* Kimberly A. Powell, 30, of Crossey Place in North Adams, was arraigned on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 23.

* Michael C. Warren, 25, of Brayton Hill Terrace in North Adams, admitted to sufficient facts and was found guilty on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, license not in possession and speeding in violation of a special regulation. Warren was sentenced to 10 days in a house of correction.
