City woman injured in Hancock accident

HANCOCK -- A North Adams woman is in stable condition following a one-car accident on Route 43 Monday afternoon.

Aurielle Skidmore, 27, was traveling south in a 2003 Dodge Durango when she became distracted and hit a guardrail and telephone pole on the west side of the road, State Police Trooper Kenneth Gaetz said Monday night.

Skidmore was taken to Berkshire Medical Center with minor injuries, he said. She was also cited for a marked-lanes violation.

The accident was reported at 4:23 p.m.
