ADAMS -- Northern Berkshire residents have been elected to three of the four offices in a new club formed by Berkshire County 4-H Club leaders. Mrs. Fiore Maruco of Adams is the president, Frank Zappula of Florida is vice president and Lawrence Herron of Williamstown is recreation leader of the Loyal Leaders, the name selected by the group. The fourth club officer is Mrs. Wesley Olds of Hinsdale, secretary. ADAMS -- After spending 14-day recruit leaves a their homes, following completion of basic training at the Great Lakes, Ill. Naval station, two Adams sailors, who enlisted in July under the "Buddy" program, have reported for new duty assignments. They are Stanley Swarzen Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Swarzen of 5 East Hoosac St., and Clifton Pause Jr., son of Mrs. Mable Bishop of Alger Street. Seaman Sworzen is now at the naval submarine base in New London, Conn. Seaman Pause has returned to Great Lakes for specialized training.

ADAMS -- The Adams-Cheshire Regional School Com mittee wasted no time Tuesday in unanimously ap proving John Gallivan as principal of the Cheshire Elemen tary School based on the recommendation of Schools Superintendent William Mc Laren. Mr. Gallivan has been serving as acting principal of the school since mid-August.

nine-week beginners’ obedience course. Those completing the course were Kristin Bona with "Brutus," John Bird with "Rogie," David Chicoine with "Biscuit," and Tim Carmain with "Tara."

NORTH ADAMS -- The Monday Night MCLA Hockey League opened up with Cariddi Auto beating Sons of Italy, 10-6. Darin Lane netted four goals for Cariddi. Ed Budz, Andy Budz, and Tom Mirante added two goals apiece. Andy Budz and Tony Raimer also picked up assists. For Sons, Brett Kamenski lit the lamp five times, while Don Diesbrow added the team’s other goal.

NORTH ADAMS -- In North Adams Pee-wee Football, the North Adams Cowboys Silver Team lost to Lee, 16-14. The Cowboys had touchdowns from Matt Stimpson and Brett Denning. Stimpson added a conversion. Playing well on defense were Robert Jutras, Chris Hilchey, Steve Barbeau, Scott Ferris, Michael DeMarsico and Adam DeMarsico.
