NORTH ADAMS -- Air man Bruce Formhals, son of Florence Formhals of 12 Beth el St., has been promoted to airman first class in the United States Air Force. Air airborne electronic maintenance specialist, he is assigned to the 99th Armament and Electronic Maintenance Squad ron at Westover Air Force Base. He enlisted Aug. 22, 1959. ADAMS -- Bernard Tan guay Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Tanguay of 3 Hathaway St., has been promoted to airman first class in the United States Air Force at Hamilton Air Force Base in California. Airman Tanguay, a jet aircraft mechanic, is assigned to the 76th Or ganizational Maintenance Squad ron there. He enlisted in December, 1959.

CHESHIRE -- Ben Rob inson leads the list of Hoosac Valley Hurricane Club letter winners on the Hoosac Valley football team for his role in last Friday’s 35-6 win over Mc Cann. Robinson was awarded seven letters. Craig Marszalek received six letters, Scott Alibozek got five letters and Ed Harrington, John Davine, Joe Eurbin, Bob Bourdon and Aaron Martel each got four letters.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Shawn Flaherty and Rob Nugent were the scoring leaders for the Mounties in Mt. Greylock’s 22-12 loss to Monument Mt., and were a mong those listed on the Mounties’ weekly Honor Roll. Flaherty caught a six-yard pass from Brian Gill for a touchdown and Nugent caught a 42-yard

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Dale Kinney, dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and professor of history of art at Bryan Mawr, is serving as the Croghan Visiting Professor of Early Christian Art at Williams during the fall semester. She was recently honored with the College Art Asso ciation’s 2002 Distinguished Teaching of Art History Award. At Williams she is teaching "Rome as City and Idea."

ADAMS -- Alison Cowie, daughter of John and Barbara Cowie of East Street, has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader’s Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky. The four-week course is a world leadership development experience that qualifies and motivates ROTC cadets for enrollment in the Senior ROTC Advanced Course at their host college campuses. Cowie attends James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.
