ADAMS -- Carolyn Major, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nor man Major of 24 Bellevue Ave., has been accepted into the membership of the Theta Alpha Chi social sorority at Albany Business College where she is an executive secretarial student. Miss Major graduated in 1962 from Adams Memorial High School. ADAMS -- Richard Godek, son of Selectman and Mrs. Edward Godek of 2 Manners Ave., a senior at Northeastern University, has been selected for training with the New England’s first ROTC Count er-guerrilla Group. The cadets have been hand-picked after passing rigid physical tests and must maintain a high academic standing to remain in the group.

READSBORO, Vt. -- Eli nor Roden, first grade teacher at Readsboro Central School, was one of nine teachers to be chosen as Outstanding Teach ers by the University of Ver mont. Ms. Roden, principal David Switz and interim superintendent Donald Finck, went to Burlington on Oct. 21 for the luncheon and awards.

CHESHIRE -- This year’s 4-H capon project ended when Cheshire 4-Hers turned in their heaviest capons and were hosted at an award dinner last week by the Cheshire Lions Club. Shawn and Melanie Martin of Windsor Road turn ed in capons weighing more than 13 pounds. Judy Kittler of Depot Street returned to her sponsor a 12.5 pound capon. Mark Field of Outlook Avenue raised an 11 pound

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Willi amstown Rotary Club Presi dent Ann Spencer announced the officers for 2002-03. They are Claudine Augé, immediate past president; Richard Alley, vice president and president-elect 2002-2003; Nancy Hunt, secretary; Attorney Dean Manuel, treasurer; and directors, J. Paul Dube, Lt. Col. Fred Ley, Wallace Graves Jr., M.D., Judy Peabody and Augé.

NORTH ADAMS -- Comali Electric/S.S.I. defeated the Bennington Raiders, 14-7 to capture its sixth straight championship in the Bennington Flag Football League. Mem bers of the team are Joe Bor deau, Marc Field, Pete Gig liotti, Shawn Wright, Jim Sheppard, Kevin Stannard, Mike Ryan, Al Marceau, Jay Griffin, Steve Bleau, Len Grande, Jeff Meehan, Kevin Meehan, Pat Ryan, Ron Sage and Rob Carpenter.
