ADAMS -- Berkshire County Tree Wardens Asso ciation and the Western Mass achusetts Tree Wardens Asso ciation met jointly in Amherst to hear a representative of the federal government speak on the development of natural resources as regards to trees. Attending the session from Adams were Joseph Sadlowski, town tree warden, and his assistant David Gomeau. ADAMS -- Organization of a new 4-H Club to be known as the Bachelor Buttons St. Stanislaus 4-H Club was completed at a meeting Monday in St. Stanislaus School Hall. Officers elected are president, Ann Gradziel; vice president, Sharon Dzierga; secretary, Mary Wiater; treasurer, Janice Socha; news reporter, Nancy Romaniak; and song leader, Irene Wolkowicz.

NORTH ADAMS -- Mayor John Barrett III appointed two members to the Mobile Home Rent Control Board at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The mayor tapped Sandra Navom of 18 Davenport St., who he said has already served on the board, and Joseph Gniadek of 201 East Main St., a science teacher at Drury High School. The Mobile Home Rent Control Board must approve all rent increases at city mobile home parks.

ADAMS -- Hoosac Valley High School has been notified by National Merit Scholarship Corporation that Sheila Wellspeak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Wellspeak of 123 Commercial St., and Aaron Lawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lawson

of 21 Water St., have been designated Commended Students in the 1987 National Merit Schol arship Program. They will receive Letters of Commend ation for their outstanding academic promise.

NORTH ADAMS -- The North Adams Cowboys defeated Dalton White, 22-8 in North Adams Youth Football. Jake Cantoni sparked the offense with 175 yards rushing on seven carries and two touchdowns for the Cowboys. He also completed a pair of two-point conversion passes. Le on Thomas lead the team with six tackles and Brett Logan had five.

NORTH ADAMS -- In Monday Night MCLA Adult Hockey League action,
True North upended Key West, 4-1. The winners were led by Rob Abel’s two goals and two assists. The other two goals came from Colin Haviland and Paul Galok. Don Disbrow assisted on three goals. For Key West, Carl Fronsman had the goal and Nick LoPresto had the assist.
