WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mar ine Pvt. Richard Treadway, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Treadway of Lynde Lane, has completed four weeks of ad vanced training with the Mar ine Infantry Train ing Regiment at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Pvt. Treadway enlisted in the Mar ine Corps in June for six months of service and completed his basic training at Parris Island, S.C. STAMFORD, Vt. -- Flor ence Dodge has been appointed by the School Board as a teaching aide at the Stamford School and began her duties as the school Monday. She will work up to five hours a day, correcting papers, doing clerical work for the school, mech anical scoring on testing, assisting on the playground, helping to order and select films and movies and possibly doing some work in the classroom.

NORTH ADAMS -- Quar ter back Mike Felix and linebacker Dan Sherman took in top honors for the week for the Drury football team. On of fense, Felix had a few long runs and threw a 41-yard pass to help set up Drury’s only touchdown in the 20-6 loss to Hoosac Valley. Defensively, Sherman had 14 unassisted tackles and assisted on several others.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Jamie Bolotin and Brian Gill grabbed the top offensive honors for the Mt. Greylock football team Saturday in the 32-0 win over McCann. Bolotin led the team Honor Roll in carries and had two touchdowns, while Gill had the most yardage and a

ADAMS -- The Massachu setts Agricultural Fair Associ ation held its annual meeting and convention Oct. 25 and 26 at Jiminy Peak Resort in Hancock. The Adams Agricul tural Fair was represented by Patricia Wojcik, president; State Fair Association director Charles Felix; and Adams directors David and Joan Shears, Patricia Wheeler, Joan Bushika, Marilyn Randall, Bar bara Ben nett and Elizabeth Randall.
ADAMS -- Deborah Carter, principal of Hoosac Valley High School, has announced four major senior award recipients. The Superintendent’s Award for exemplary academic excellence was awarded to Mar kell Ripps, who also re ceiv ed the DAR Good Citizen Award. Meag han Doyle re ceiv ed the National Associa tion of Secon dary School Principal’s and Massachusetts Secondary School Administra tors Associ a tion’s Principal’s Leadership Award. Jon Koper niak receiv ed the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Spirit of Community Service Award.
