READSBORO, Vt. -- A reorganization meeting of the 4-H Club was held Saturday at the home of Betty Bolognani of Glen Avenue. Officers elected were: Patrol leader, Nancy Codogni; vice president, Patricia Caruso; secretary, Kathleen Codogni; treasurer, Dawn Sanderson; game leader, Lauren Dassatti; news reporter, Sharon Birth; song leader, Sue Bolognani; cheer leader, Andrea Bailey; and health officer, Geraldine Comai.
NORTH ADAMS -- For the fifth consecutive year a North Adams accordion player has represented the state of Massachusetts as a professional musician in the National Accordion Championship held in New York City. He is Ronald Richardello, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Richardello of 18 Walnut St., a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School last June and a student at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y.

CHESHIRE -- Five persons have already returned their nomination papers for town offices in Cheshire to assure that their names will appear on the annual ballot. Nomination papers have been filed by Raymond Perreault for a two-year term on the Board of Assessors, incumbent Linda Johnson to a two-year term as tax collector, incumbent Stanley Zarek to a one-year term as town moderator, Wilbur Chase to a three-year term as water commissioner and Thomas Andrew to a three-year term as an assessor.
NORTH ADAMS -- Pfizer edged Key West, 71-69 in Northern Berkshire YMCA Men’s Basketball league. Bill Hakes was high scorer for Pfizer with 33 points, followed by Rey Acosta with 12. Key West got 22 points from Rob Canale and Jim Shaker added 10.

NORTH ADAMS -- Kelly Grogan, daughter of Patrick and Claire Grogan of North Adams, a Dartmouth College student in the class of 2005, has been cited for outstanding academic achievement in Latin 1, Economics 10 during the fall term. Members of the Dartmouth faculty submit citation reports when a student’s work is sufficiently distinguished to merit special recognition.
NORTH ADAMS -- Michela Preite of North Adams, a senior at Mount Greylock Regional High School, finished 11th overall in the Pre-Juvenile Girls Group D competition at the Bay State Winter Games on Saturday at Williams College Lansing Chapman Rink in Williamstown. Chelsea Vecelli, also of North Adams, placed seventh in the same event.
