NORTH ADAMS -- David Gomeau of 108 Corinth St. was appointed to the North Adams Tree Commission for a three-year term by Mayor Francis Florini. He succeeds Ernest Luscia of 114 Franklin St. Mr. Gomeau’s name will go to the City Council Tuesday night for confirmation. He has had 4 1/2 years of field experience in tree work and courses at the University of Massachusetts related to tree work. ADAMS -- A panel discussion by seven members of the senior class of St. Joseph’s High School, North Adams, will be the program feature at the March meeting of Court Sancta Regina. Stephen Reynes will be panel chairman. Other panel members are Mary Ellen Bergeron, Georgia Button, Margaret Vachereau, Dennis LaVersa, Michael Kelly and George Wood, all of North Adams.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Maureen Maher, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Maher of Williamstown, a senior at Holy Cross College, has been named to the dean’s list for the first semester of the 1987-88 academic year. She is majoring in biology and pre-medicine.

NORTH ADAMS -- Kathleen Wysocki with Peebles Jewel Shop at 10 Berkshire Plaza, completed a course in diamond grading with the Gemological Institute of America of Santa Monica, Calif., and received the Institute’s Diamond Grading certificate. To complete the course successfully, Wysocki mastered a range of information

and skills, culminating in the quality-grading of a series of diamonds.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Berkshire Country Day School has announced its second trimester Head of School’s List. From the High School, high honors were awarded to Julia Kleederman of Williamstown and Seth Madison of Lanesborough. From the Upper School, high honors were awarded to Daniel Kleederman and Corey Silberstein, both of Williamstown.

NORTH ADAMS -- Drury High School’s academic decathlon team missed placing in the top 10 at this year’s state competition, but came in fifth in the "Super Quiz" event. The team traveled to Walpole High School after securing a berth in the statewide competition by winning the Western Massachusetts event last November. Members of the team were Sean Carollo, Elizabeth Wol, Molly MacGregor, Alcide Bullett, Daniel Nolan, Mike DePaoli, Allyson Holmes, Marla Moore and Simon Armata.
