ADAMS -- Joseph Kosiba of 39 Crotteau St. last night was elected chairman of the Park Commission at its organization meeting in the District Court room at Town Hall He succeeds Donald Bombardier, who was elected secretary for this year. Other board members are John Milos, Francis Couture and Albert Reid. WILLIAMSTOWN -- Appointment of Stanley Bubriski of 21 Hoxsey St. as a senior product specialist for electrolytic capacitors in the field engineering department of the Sprague Electric Co. was announced by Carroll Killen, vice president of industrial and military sales. Bubriski became associated with the Sprague Electric Co. in 1952 as a development engineer.

NORTH ADAMS -- Cub Scout Pack 88 of the First Congregational Church held its annual Pinewood Derby Race on March 9. There were 17 Cubs participating in the double elimination race under the supervision of Scoutmaster Thomas Therrien of Troop 62 in Clarksburg. The winners were Kyle King, first place; Jeremy Maruco, second place; Joel Feder, third place; and Peter Greenbush, fourth place.

ADAMS -- The Board of Selectmen has selected Mary Beverly as the town accountant. Beverly, the town clerk/ accountant in Clarksburg, was one of 11 applicants who applied. She worked for DiLego Accounting in North Adams for 14 years before moving to Clarksburg, where she has lived for 25 years.

ADAMS -- The second-grade class of Saint Stanislaus Kostka School received the Service Award from Bishop Thomas Dupre on March 16 at St. Michael Cathedral in Springfield. Representing their class at the ceremony were Luke McKay, son of David and Mary Lou McKay of North Adams; David Bailot, son of David and Linda Bailot of Adams; Mitchell Zajac, son of Mitchell and Colleen Zajac of Adams; and Julia Burdick, daughter of Timothy and Brenda Burdick of Adams.
