NORTH ADAMS -- Six Northern Berkshire employees of the Berkshire Gas Co. attended the company’s annual sales award meeting in South Lee last night and two became award winners. Placing second in the sales achievement department was Louis Casuscelli of North Adams. Philip Remillard of Adams won special recognition from the firm for excellence in sales for a new employee. Others attending from the area were Philip Taylor, Charles Lynch, Laurence Benz and Albert Tessier. NORTH ADAMS -- Five Northern Berkshire men made their first appearance in World Who’s Who in Commerce and Industry. Selected from the North Adams area were Bruce Carlson, Francis Jenkins, Roger Jewett, Harold Pearson and Neal Welch. Carlson, Jenkins and Welch are all executives of the Sprague Electric Co. Jewett is executive director of the Northern Berkshire Development Corp. and Pearson is president of Strong, Hewat & Co. in Clarksburg.

NORTH ADAMS -- Jamie Borowski, daughter of James Borowski of 42 Tyler St., and Beverly Borowski of 14 Murray St., Adams, has been chosen among 5 percent of all students of the nation’s 22,000 high schools for the honor of "Who’s Who Among American High School Students, 1987-88." She is a 1988 graduate of Charles H. McCann Technical School where she was in the Retail Business Careers Program.
STAMFORD, Vt. -- Patten Corporation recently announced the appointment of Warren Van Genderen as chief operating officer. He will report directly to Harry Patten, chief executive officer of the company. He brings to this newly created post, a wealth of financial and management experience.

NORTH ADAMS -- In North Adams Youth Football, the North Adams Junior Blue team beat South Berkshire, 34-6. The rushing tandem of Mike Cantoni and Bill Bostwick combined for 220 yards on the round and four touchdowns behind the blocking of Steve Denault, Jon McAdoo, Arick Erdeski, Chris Bohl, Tyler Benoit, Jon Erdeski, Kirby Williams and Cyrus Furtado. Quarterback Justin Racette set up a TD with a long run and added a two-point conversion.
CHESHIRE -- In Cheshire Youth Football action, the Cheshire Chargers beat Lee, 22-0. Ben Raimer racked up over 100 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. The offensive line of Ben Kleiner, Jake Wilk, Garrett Ott, Hunter Gaylord, Jonathon Baker, Nick Burzimati and Scott Bailey opened the holes for Raimer. Travis Manning led the Charger defense with eight tackles.
