READSBORO, Vt. -- Howard Phelps, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phelps of Tunnel Street, received the Order of the Arrow during ceremonies held over the weekend at Boy Scout Camp Plymouth in Ludlow. The Order of the Arrow is awarded to scouts who have shown themselves by daily practice to be living the scout oath and promise. Phelps is a student in plant maintenance at McCann School in North Adams. NORTH ADAMS -- Lt. Allen Lanoue, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lanoue of 8 Williams St., was released from duty Monday after serving two years in the Army’s Signal Corps Reserve. He has been stationed with the Chief Signal Office in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and plans to enter Columbia University in New York for graduate study.

NORTH ADAMS -- Dr. Joan Lister has joined the obstetrics, gynecology and infertility practice of Dr. Bonnie Herr located in the Doctors Building on Hospital Avenue. She previously practiced at Harvard Community Health Plan ad the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Julie Jenks Zorach, M.S.W., has opened an office at 10 Meadow St. for the practice of adolescent and adult psychotherapy. She received her masters in social work from Smith College School of Social Work and received additional psychotherapy training at Yale University School of Medicine. Zorach is a licensed independent clinical social worker and designated as a provider for many insurance groups.

NORTH ADAMS -- In North Adams Youth Football action, The North Adams Cowboys Silver Team lost to Cheshire Chargers, 26-0. The Cowboys leading tacklers were Michael Tatro with 11, Brett Denning with nine, Michael Chappell with seven and Jake Siciliano with six. Cody Wemette added four tackles and a fumble recovery.
NORTH ADAMS -- In North Adams Youth Football action, The North Junior Blue team beat CYC Blue, 40-28. The duo of Mike Cantoni and Bill Bostwick combined for 265 yards on the ground, as well as one touchdown each. Defensively, Jon Erdeski led the way with seven tackles and a forced fumble. Bostwick had six tackles, while Cantoni and Cyrus Furtado combined for 10.
