ADAMS -- A four way tie developed for gross honors in the annual Member-Guest Tournament at Forest Park Country Club. Ending with a best ball score of 70 were Chet Mendel and Walt Rohane, Stan Brodalski and Steve Naprova, Jerry LaRoche and George Horton and John Innes and Fred Favreau. CLARKSBURG -- Winners of the Scotch Foursome held at the North Adams Country Club were Ella Elder and Ronnie Ballou with a net 66. Coming in second were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harvey with 67, and coming in third were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steele with 68. Winners of the mystery hole were Charlotte Harvey and Charles Bass.

They are Hazel Rondot, master; Charles Wagner, overseer; Nancy Lescarbeau, lecturer; Lawrence Herron, steward; Helen vanHorn, chaplain; Lawrence Mattison, assistant steward; Esther Herrick, lady assistant steward; Gordon Putnam, gatekeeper; Margaret Putnam, treasurer; and Irene Mattison, treasurer.
CHESHIRE -- Five different players scored touchdowns in the Hoosac Valley junior varsity football team's 38-0 win over the Pittsfield JVs. Damon Bieniek, Mike Tetlow, Mike Megaro, Joe Alcaro and Tim Martel had the touchdowns, while Vince Skiffington scored three two-point conversions. Alcaro added the other two-pointer.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Williams College has announced the appointment of Hoang Gia Phan and Merida Rua as 2003-04 Gaius Charles Bolin Fellows. Bolin fellows spend an academic year-in-residence at Williams, teaching one semester course while completing dissertation work. Phan is the Bolin Fellow in English and Rua is the Bolin Fellow in American studies.
NORTH ADAMS -- Several local members of the Western Mass Athletic Club paced the field at the 23rd annual Deacon's Den Road Race Sept. 20 in West Dover, Vt. In the 3-mile event, Jim Preite was the overall winner. Other members who took part were Glen Beverly, Steve Beverly, Chris Beverly, Mary Beverly, Jerry Dubuis, Leon Beverly, Marion Beverly, Kent Lemme and Bob Dion.
