NORTH ADAMS -- A city man has been charged with allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman early Monday morning.
Robert Rauser, of Secor Avenue, was arraigned Monday in Northern Berkshire District Court on charges of assault and battery, aggravated assault and battery, and malicious destruction of property over $250.
Rauser's bail was set at $4,000 cash or $40,000 surety bond.
The victim told police that she and Rauser had been in an on-and-off relationship for approximately 3 years, according to a criminal complaint filed by North Adams Police Officer Ivan Cardeno.
Rauser is also facing charges of aggravated assault and battery and intimidating a witness for a separate incident. His pretrial release in that case was revoked.
