WILLIAMSTOWN -- Derek Leo has been promoted to as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at Dion Money Management.
Leo joined Dion Money Management in February after more than seven years in the U. S. Army. As a judge advocate, Derek first served as a legal assistance attorney and then as military prosecutor for his first tour at Fort Hood, Texas. In 2008, he was selected to be the chief counsel to a two-star general at the United States Army War College and lead the Carlisle Barracks legal office at the age of 28.
Leo joined the civilian legal world after being offered the general counsel and director of compliance position at Dion Money Management. In July, he was named senior vice president, general counsel, and chief compliance officer.
He is a graduate of Bucknell University and obtained his juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
