WILLIAMSTOWN -- John MacLean, son of Dr. and Mrs. Alexander MacLean of 147 Cole Ave., has been promoted to airman second class in the United States Air Force. He is presently a student at the Keesler Technical Training Center at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. He enlisted in the Air Force early this year and completed his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in April. ADAMS -- A total of 113 girls participated in the annual intramural volleyball tournament this week in the Adams Memorial High School gymnasium. Members of the winning team were Margaret Thompson, Roberta McKay, Martha Bradford, Joan Lubowicz, Martha Milenski, Darlene Hagan, Marjorie Munn and Patricia Wotkowicz.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mt. Greylock tackle Foss Goodrich raked in high defensive honors on the Mt. Greylock Honor roll for his efforts in the Mounties’ 14-0 win over Hoosac Valley. Goodrich was the top tackler and got credit for the "hit of the week." Also cited on defense were Rob Nugent and Darren Bouley for interceptions. On offense, Mike Sarrouf was cited at the top lineman, Dan Dufur and Nugent each had a touchdown.
NORTH ADAMS -- Dave Brazeau, a first-year football player, took in defensive player of the week honors for Drury for his work in the 26-6 loss to Mt. Anthony last weekend. Brazeau, defensive end, made 12 solo tackles and assisted on five others. Also cited on defense was cornerback Peter Sprague for eight unassisted tackles. Quarterback Mike Felix was named offensive player of the week.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Dennis Balcom, LICSW, has announced the opening of his psychotherapy practice at 11 Main St. He brings 25 years of clinical experience to his new practice. His areas of practice include marital and family therapy and individual psychotherapy for adults and has helped clients with issues of past and present trauma, recovery from addictions, anxiety and depression.
ADAMS -- Avon Certified Beauty Advisor and Advanced Unit Leader Kathleen Danis of Adams, received some top level guidance when she attended Avon’s 2003 National Convention in Orlando, Fla. this summer. Renowned make-up artist Maria Verel, whose clients include Hillary Clinton and Diane Sawyer, gave Danis make-up tips that she will pass on to her customers.
