NORTH ADAMS -- Charges have been filed following an accident that closed Park Avenue on Saturday.
Donald Therrien Jr., of Union Street in North Adams, was charged with operating under the influence (OUI) of liquor and wanton destruction of property over $250, after police say he drove his truck into a telephone pole Saturday afternoon while intoxicated.
The road remained closed for approximately 2 hours while National Grid repaired damage to the pole.
Therrien was not immediately arrested because he was admitted to North Adams Regional Hospital overnight for his injuries, according to North Adams Police Sergeant James Burdick. Therrien was summonsed on the charges.
