CHESHIRE -- A motorcyclist was transported to Berkshire Medical Center with minor injuries Thursday after being struck by a car on Route 8.
Donald Barbour was traveling in the northbound lane at nearly 30 miles per hour when he was hit by a vehicle turning into a personal storage faicility, according to Cheshire Police Officer Brandon Gallagher.
Stacia Fotier, driving a Toyota Corolla, told police she did not see the oncoming bicycle because she was blinded by the sun. Fotier, a North Adams resident, was not issued any citations.
Barbour, a Pittsfield resident, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center via Adams Ambulance with a possible broken foot, according to Gallgher. He was treated and released, according to hospital officials.
Barbour was wearing a helmet, Gallagher said.
The Cheshire Fire Department and Cheshire Police responded to the scene.
